Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture
Spring 2009 BBSN Training Class

10 A.M., Friday, March 27 – 3 P.M., Saturday, March 28

Pohly Meetinghouse
United Theological Seminary
4501 Denlinger Rd., Trotwood, Ohio

Dr. Jacqueline Nowak

This course introduces dimensions of spiritual nurture, Holy Listening, discipleship, and faith formation, beginning with childhood and continuing throughout adulthood. Students explore the biblical, theological and developmental foundations out of which Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture arises. Hands-on opportunities will be provided for exploring and making tangible nurture items for children, teens and adults.

In addition, attention is given to working with children, adolescents and adults (through older adults), in ways which encourage lifelong spiritual growth. A particular focus upon children will deepen students’ understanding and awareness of the innate holiness of children and examine ways of nurturing each one’s natural connection to God throughout life.

Each session includes prayer and worship, with the class structured to honor the experiences and understandings that the students bring with them.

The class is taught by Blessing Center Director, Dr. Jacqueline Nowak and United Theological Seminary Professor Emeritus, Donald Rogers, PhD.

Cost: $250. A discount is offered to students and course graduates returning for refresher. For affordable housing and meals, contact the Blessing Center at info@blessingcenter.
